Getting to and around Ottawa
By Air
The Ottawa International Airport is the only airport serving Ottawa and the surrounding areas. It is located approximately 20 minutes from downtown Ottawa and the conference venue and hotel.
By Rail
Canada's train VIA Rail is a convenient, comfortable and affordable way to travel throughout most of Canada. There are numerous daily departures to Ottawa from all major cities in southern Ontario and Quebec. The main VIA Rail station is located approximately 10 minutes from downtown Ottawa and the conference venue and hotel. Taxis are always readily available and the train station is a stop along the transitway route for OC Transpo (Ottawa's main public transit system).
By Road
There are several major highways that serve the Ottawa area. The most commonly used highways are 416, 174, 7, 16, 31 and 417 (known as the Queensway).
By Local Public Transit
In Ottawa the local public transit is OC Transpo. Day passes are sold on buses or cash is accepted for fare; exact change is required. Tickets can be purchased at several convenience stores in the Ottawa area or at OC Transpo stations.
